Room 407, Friday Evening

No candles, no burgers, nothing that Merlin had tried before for romance was happening tonight. That ended badly the last time to he was switching it up.

With cookies.

He even managed to get a bit of a variety pack so Francine could pick and chose what she liked best.

It was the culinary equivalent to Barry White.

"Backache?" Okay, conversation during this was not working for him. It was very distracting.

Francine sighed and uttered the words that had probably kept the Great Mystery of The Ages going. "It's a girl thing. Don't worry about it." And slipped off the bra completely.

And once again, those feminine mysteries took hold. Or something.

"I think that may be for the best," He admitted, leaning in to kiss her again.

Someday she'd have to ask him what it was with guys and boobs, when he wasn't staring at a pair of them and thus unable to give any kind of coherent answer, Francine thought.

And then badly suppressed a laugh into the kiss at the idea that she'd ever ask.

"What are you laughing at?" Merlin asked, smiling a bit himself because... things bounced when she laughed.

Oh, shut up.

"Nothing. Just I really, really have no doubts that you like girls, Merlin," she said. Before she thought the associations of that statement through.

"Well, I like you," He corrected without realizing, running his hands up her sides again.

She ducked her head to press a kiss to his jawline. "Same thing, isn't it?" Giiiiiive her time.

"Yes." Give hiiiim time too. "I believe it is," Merlin replied with a faint grin, moving one hand up to cup her breast.

Could she do that lap thing without cutting off circulation or inducing an old-fashioned flail-fest? Well, she could try. At least as far as swinging one leg across his. Without serious damage to anyone's extremities, even!

They certainly were trying--"Um!" Merlin let go of her chest to put both hands on her back so that she wouldn't fall backwards off the bed.

Oh...kay. Possibly necessary, yes. Somehow the lap thing became more of a straddle than a ladylike side....thingy. Francine lacked terminology for this, shut up.

On the other hands, the ones around her back, it did leave Merlin in an even better position for staring.

A much better position for it. Or possibly being smothered. Either or.

"This is... new."

"Bad new?" she asked a little nervously. She had to check these things.

"Good new," He confirmed. Because where she was sitting really didn't give her enough to conform that.

Really.

Shush, sometimes her mouth was faster than her brain. Or observational skills. "Good." She leaned her head down to kiss him, resting her hands on his shoulders.

Merlin wasn't about to object! God no.

He kissed her back, keeping one hand on her lower back and the other one moving up to rub her neck. None of that moving through her hair thing. That only ended in tangles and him losing his hand.

Francine's hair would not eat his hand, thank you very much. It might chomp a little, but he'd get it back. Eventually.

There was something to this position, Francine decided, even if it was kind of a balancing act. The shoulder-gripping was kind of especially nice, because scrawny or no, she liked holding on to them.

And the position... certainly did lovely things for him when she shifted in any way. Even if the grip on his shoulders was starting to hurt just a bit. He could easily ignore it to deepen the kiss and attempt to move backwards with her not having to move away.

So there was less chance of dumping poor Francine on the floor.

Yes, scooting backwards with a top-heavy girl on his lap was bound to end well.

At least Merlin was going to die how he lived. Covered in breasts.

"Francine?"

He may have thought that's what he said, but it was a little muffled. "Huh?"

Merlin tapped her on the side, wondering if this was either a wonderful thing or something to be concerned about.

"OH!" She sat up a bit. "Sorry."

"Not a problem," He wheezed. "I'll warn you next time I move."
