Room 407, Friday Evening

No candles, no burgers, nothing that Merlin had tried before for romance was happening tonight. That ended badly the last time to he was switching it up.

With cookies.

He even managed to get a bit of a variety pack so Francine could pick and chose what she liked best.

It was the culinary equivalent to Barry White.

Ah, breathing again!

"Not a problem," He wheezed. "I'll warn you next time I move."

"It might be safer." Then again, this wasn't a bad position either. Though certainly one she'd never have thought of on her own. Francine grinned and leaned down to kiss him again, this time with a nice sturdy bed to brace her hands on.

It managed to put Francine in a position to be in charge of what they did which was... new. And interesting.

Kissing her back, Merlin kept his hands on her hips, moving them on down to try and find the bottom of the skirt. Mostly just getting lost in the flowy fabric.

At least the skirt wasn't going to bite him. Or even really care if he snagged his hands in it. Francine shifted her hips a little under his hands, part reaction to the touch and part to give him better access. To... whatever it was he wanted access to.

Francine in charge is new and interesting in theory, but she was still Francine.

It took a few moments of work, but he managed to find skin beneath the fabric of her skirt. Running his hands up her thighs slowly, Merlin grinned into the kiss.

Look, they did this all without that damned book or the island playing with them!

And Francine was beyond impressed at that, seriously. Still seconds away at any time from stepping back at shrieking WHAT ARE YOU DOING? at herself (or worrying that Merlin would), but incredibly proud that neither of them had.

She didn't want to slip and smother him again, but she did try leaning on just the one arm, so she could run her other hand across his shoulder and down to his chest.

His oh so broad chest. But it certainly felt nice anyway.

Merlin inhaled sharply, shifting his hips up off the bed a few times to find something comfortable. Or maybe just because he did, in fact, remember how lovely it had been for the point five seconds they had been in a position like this last time.

Francine shifted her oh so narrow hips too. Not that the position had quite the same immediate positive effect on her, but give her a bit. Slow was a thing with Francine.

They did slow perfectly fine before now. Why should this time be any different? Well, other than the fact that they had finally managed it once before.

Merlin, sadly, was not so slow to find this a very nice place to be if the way he moved up to meet her and the pleased little 'guh' noise was anythign to go by.

Francine should spend a little less time being impressed with her ability to elicit that and a little more time thinking about how this could far too easily lead down a prom night path if she wasn't careful.

Oh, she was becoming a cruel woman here.

Reaching his hands further up her thighs, he found sides of her--erm--undergarments and hooking his thumbs up and through them. There were far too many words for them here and all of them made him nervous just to think.

At least these didn't have a cat embroidered on them? Though there was still the lace thing going on.

And a Francine pausing at the fingers there, and looking down at him with an uncertain smile.

Merlin looked up at her, also pausing. "No?"

"No!" ...Not helpful, Francine. "I mean no, not no. I mean, um. Yes. That's what I mean."

"We can go slow," Merlin offered, though he was almost sure a repeat of the dance was bound to happen if they kept up going slow with her being all...there.

Stupid stupid stupid... Francine leaned down to kiss him again. "No. Go ahead."

"Book said s'okay to say maybe," He muttered into the kiss. That part he could read without wanting to die from embarrassment!

"That's sweet," Francine said, once it was sayable. "But that was just me saying yes really badly."

"Oh." Squeaking didn't help, Merlin. "Alright."

He pulled down on her underwear, trying very hard not to think about things so this wouldn't be over so soon.

The squeaking made her have to cover her mouth so as not to laugh; it's debatable whether that was 'help' or not, but at least it distracted Francine from feeling awkward.

And then made her feel guilty enough to stretch up and drop a kiss on his forehead, because really.

Merlin had to laugh just once at himself there. It was either that or die of embarrassment. He reached as far as he could and gave her a bit of a hopeful look to help removing them then rest of the way.

Which would require either rolling off him or athletics at levels that cheerleaders would stare in awe over, if she didn't want to break something on someone.

Francine was no cheerleader, so.... yeah. On the plus side, not being in her previous position as she shimmied them the rest of the way off solved the problem of omghurryup, at least temporarily.

As long as he didn't look at the shimmying. Or think too much about it. Oh gosh, that ceiling was interesting tonight, wasn't it?

"I think, um, I put what you brought in the dresser."

She almost said 'The cookies?' and then she remembered that for once, she didn't bring the cookies. Francine Peters, saved from looking like an idiot by Jeff, the God of Biscuits.

She got up without breaking anything on anyone...or tripping over her own underwear, and we'll all just pretend not to notice how close a call that was.

"Which drawer?"
