Room 407, Friday Afternoon

After the list of chores that comes from the morning after Arthur's broadcast and then class, Merlin was just settling in to have a spot of private time to read his book. Anything about drinking blood and red eyes would be good to find out more on.

No such luck so far. But he wasn't giving up hope!

While Merlin wandering into his room without as much as a knock was a clear offense, Arthur had... well, okay, he had some compunctions.

So he knocked on the door once. If Merlin took more than five seconds, he'd burst on in.

Sitting up on his bed, Merlin closed the book and shoved it under his pillow before anyone could see it. "Hello?"

Oh, sure, talk to the closed door.

Arthur shoved it open. "Merlin," he said, "Talking to a door isn't going to open it."

So maybe he was still a little frustrated over the Leto issue.

Merlin rolled his eyes, getting off the bed to open it for him. "Did you injure your hands or something?"

Arthur held up one of those hands and stormed past him. "I continue to be astounded by your inability to recognize the fine piece of art that is the cupboard."

It wasn't even that messy! Only a few... shirts on the floor. And trousers.

And his scarf.

"Are you here to critique my ability to keep my room clean?"

"I am here to inspect your chambers," he said, dismissively, and yanked Merlin's scarf off the floor. "Do you ever tidy up at all?"

"When I'm not doing your chores," Merlin replied dryly, going to sit on the bed and calmly push the book further out of sight.

"That's hardly an excuse," he said, and flung the scarf in Merlin's general direction. "I don't believe I've met your roommate, the poor man."

Hannibal listened to the radio so he'd heard what happened to his poor little brother a few days ago.

So, he came a knocking just to laugh check on Merlin. He almost wished he'd been there but he'd been doing other things. The goddamn hickey on his neck was a reminder of that.

Hiding the book again, Merlin was off the bed and opening the door to make sure it wasn't, well he wasn't sure yet.

"Oh, Hannibal! Hello."

"Merlin, you're still alive," he said, mostly kidding. "Just hiding?"

"Somehow, I don't think hiding would help," Merlin said dryly.

"Yeah, people tend to find you," he said, nodding. "Locking the door doesn't help?"

"Not if people keep knocking." That was a joke. Really!

"Hey, I didn't see no DO NOT DISTURB sign on your door," he said, smirking. "Might wanna look into a signal, Merlin."

Tony didn't have any Friday night plans so he figured he'd stop by and see what Merlin was up to.

Book all secure under the covers of his bed, Merlin opened the door a crack to find... Tony. "Hello!"

"Hey, how's it going?" Tony grinned. "If you're watching porn in there, I can leave you alone."

Merlin gave him a look and rolled his eyes, opening the door wider to invite him in. "Reading. Not everyone is obsessed with that tripe."

Tony stepped inside the room. "What are you reading?" he asked.

Looking out into the hall, Merlin shut the door behind Tony before replied. "Like your laptop."

Making sure no random rodents were about, Merlin nodded and retrieved the book. "It's not as interesting as yours..."
