Room 407, Sunday Afternoon

Merlin had a movie and a lion with him this afternoon. Now all he needed was a girlfriend.

...there was something of a joke in there, but he hadn't noticed yet.

"Arthur, please stay off my be--" It was really no use. "--d. You're worse like this, you know."

"Ignore him, he's being a bit of an ass today," Merlin said, offering her a small grin.

Arthur rolled his eyes, sat up, paced a tiny circle on Merlin's bed, and flopped down on it again.

He had more ideas of common decency when he was human. Well, some.

"...Ignore him. Right." Francine gave them both a dubious look. "I'll get right on that." She did however, come in and cautiously find a seat.

On Cal's bed, TYVM.

Merlin shuffled his feet nervously, looking away from both lion and her. "I'll just put the movie in."

Arthur contemplated continuing to look squarely uninterested, but instead leveled his head, shot Francine an utterly unimpressed look, and then chose to look squarely uninterested in roughly Merlin's direction.

It worked for him.

And again, does Arthur even have an impressed look?

"Which movie is it?" Francine asked. They hadn't exactly gotten much further than 'romantic comedy' last night before getting distracted by talk of food, dates, and lion poo again.

"Err--" He looked at the DVD cover. "Something about losing a man in a few days."

Arthur had impressed looks. Three, in fact, which were reserved for three individual scenarios: sweet mercy, you just so killed that thing, that was so hot, oh hell, that's a damn lot of zombies and we're all about to die and, of course, my manservant just actually had a good idea and in return I'll drink poison for him, although that last one didn't come up much.

As none of those situations were currently in any danger of occurring, Arthur leaned his head a bit further down and snorted. Unimpressed, yes.

"Oh, I know that one!" Francine nodded, relaxing enough to cross her knees and lean back against a pillow, after another careful glance at the Unimpressed Prince. "I haven't seen it, though."

"Chuck offered me it," Merlin said, smiling and fiddling with the television.

That was a ringing endorsement there.

"Really, Chuck?" Francine sat up a bit. "I'd never have guessed he was into this kind of movie. Just goes to show you people have more sides than you expect."

"He said it was to avoid relationships," Merlin said dryly. "So you never know."

"Boys are weird," Francine said, shaking her head. In a room with two of them, even if one was currently a boy cat.

"Um. Present company excepted, of course." Liiiiiiar.

Arthur eyed her. He knew that tone. He let go of a disbelieving (if still unimpressed) rawwwr.

Hitting the play button, Merlin went over to join Francine on the other bed. If Arthur was going to be atrocious about this...

"Of course."

"This should be good," Francine said. Possibly leaning a little against his shoulder. "I like Matthew McConaug-----heeeeeey." That wasn't the intro to any Paramount film she'd ever seen. Where was the mountain?

Merlin, on the other hand, knew nothing of the mountains and saw nothing wrong so far. "Who's that?"

Arthur had no such way of identifying the proper way any movie should start, but Francine's reaction was enough to cause his disinterested head to poke up with something that wasn't quite disinterest.

"The actor who plays the main character." Or, you know, male lead if you've actually taken Feminism 101, Francine.

"Ohhh. Which one is him?" Merlin asked, watching a few men on the screen start talking about some big project for work.

"...None of them." Francine frowned, then gave a little shrug. "Maybe he comes later."

And they were getting shirtless. In an office. Merlin wasn't sure why, but this didn't seem like a normal movie.

So he cocked his head to the side curiously.

They weren't just getting shirtless. They were getting devoid of clothing entirely.

Arthur did not perk up. That would be unprincely. He merely tilted his head very suddenly up in an utterly royal fashion that maybe wasn't completely disinterested. But he was a lion. So you couldn't tell.

Okay, so Francine was not unappreciative of male shirtlessness here, though a bit ummmmm about being appreciative in a room with her boyfriend and his boyfriend very large, very loud boss. But, um.

"Um." ............"UM!"

"...this isn't a romantic comedy, is it?" Merlin asked faintly.
