Merlin didn't remember last year with the children. Well, he did, but he was trying very hard to repress it, so...

He didn't remember.

So, he clinging to Arthur not unlike some sort of aquatic creature. Because it was comfortable for him at least.

"That would take more than an afternoon, Merlin," Arthur muttered, patting the bo awkwardly on the back.

Merlin smiled anyway, waving him off. "You'll enjoy yourself."

Arthur snorted at him. "If you think you're leaving me to tend to him on my own, you've clearly gone mad again," he said, "If nothing else, you'll have to help mind the horses."

"Oh, but we only have two to ride!"

Arthur shot him - and Rhys - a look. "He's the size of a puppet."

"Them, since you're the more experienced horseman, he can ride on your horse with you."

Merlin was nefarious.

Arthur squinted at him, but realised that finding fault with that conclusion would be finding fault with the flattery, and, well, he couldn't have that.

"Fine," he said, suspiciously, "Just don't think you're getting out of this, Merlin."
