Room 407, Friday Evening

No candles, no burgers, nothing that Merlin had tried before for romance was happening tonight. That ended badly the last time to he was switching it up.

With cookies.

He even managed to get a bit of a variety pack so Francine could pick and chose what she liked best.

It was the culinary equivalent to Barry White.

What a coincidence, since Francine was doing the same thing with his... medieval shirt thing that was thankfully not the one she'd borrowed before or it would've looked terrible on her.

It would have looked fine!

Then again, Merlin was under the assumption that most things would. Even if he would have to brave his shirts being stretched out in certain spots.

He pulled up on her shirt, catching right under the bust and--well both of them doing this was just--maybe if he used only one had? Nope. That wasn't working.

"Remember how I told you about that game, Twister?" Francine asked, one hand caught in her own sleeve and the other in his.

"Um. Yes?" He was beginning to lose his balance here! One arm holding onto her side and the other was stuck in a sleeve as well. But he was determined!

"This is kind of like that, only with less people and no apologies if there's accidental awkward touching."

That got him to look up. "Maybe we ought to take off our own shirts?"

"Oh. Um." Yes. "That could be a plan." Sort of. With some de-tangling of arms. And maybe some not looking directly at him when she pulled her t-shirt off over her head.

Merlin did about the same, more than just a bit happy his nose was all healed up as he managed to get the shirt caught on his head for a moment or two.

And then he just looked at her.

Really now, the dumb staring was unnecessary.

So was the crossing her arms, probably. Considering it only made it worse. "What?"

"Um." Stop staring, Merlin. Eyes up there. "They're... nice."

Didn't the book say something about honesty with this sort of thing?

"Very nice."

"Thank you." It wasn't the first time she'd said that, but it might have been the first time she'd been undrunk, unspelled, and unflustered enough to just accept it as a compliment.

Merlin leaned forward, hands on her sides again and moving up as he went for a kiss. Because really, he wasn't quite there enough for more.

You wouldn't think that was so vastly different without a shirt on as it was with, and yet. His hands weren't cold, so the shiver must have been for other reasons, no?

Merlin scooted a bit closer, shifting one hand back to attempt the mysteries of the bra once more.

Even more mysterious than before, since this one wasn't a front closure. Francine had learned her lesson there. She leaned forward a bit to give him better access to it, though it did rather... yeah.

You'd think that having sex once would cure someone of the 'omgbreasts' each time they were pressed against him, but nooo. Merlin was stuck trying very hard not to have his hands fumble with the clasp and kiss her at the same time.

"There's, um. Three of them," Francine said, when he actually succeeded at the first one.

Merlin scooted closers so he could look over her shoulder at the task at hand.

Two down now! The third one was proving to be a tricky bastard.

She could, of course, just do it herself, but he seemed so dedicated to the project... "Heavy duty, for extra squirrel-flashing protection."

Merlin beamed, pulling back and looking more than just a bit proud of himself. "Is that why you wear it?"

"Well..." Backtrack. Backtrack! "Of course not."

"Don't girls wear, like... corsets or iron maidens or something like that in your time?"

Francine looked down, while sliding one strap off her arm. "Well..."
